Children & Young People Now Article: "Black pupils more likely to be diagnosed with special needs"

An article from Children & Young People Now highlighting recent research conducted by the Department of Education at the University of Oxford which states that black students are twice as likely to be diagnosed with having a social, emotional or mental health need than their white peers.

Racism from teachers, a lack of understanding of cultural differences and ineffective classroom management are among possible factors cited in the report behind the over-representation.
