The Domestic Abuse School Advisor for Lincolnshire County Council can offer to support Educational Settings in Lincolnshire with the 'Domestic Abuse Resource pack for schools and education settings in Lincolnshire' and the 'Domestic Abuse Policy Template'.
This resource pack is hopefully to become your 'one-stop' place for all things concerned with domestic abuse. It has a comprehensive appendix of useful documents including the Domestic Abuse Policy Template and a Referral Pathway for disclosures of domestic abuse.
This Resource Pack is something that can be dipped into as things occur, rather than for you to become an expert in domestic abuse and my role is to support you within using this Resource Pack as well as the following:
• Offer you guidance in implementing the Domestic Abuse Policy Template or other related issues around the policy
• To offer Basic Awareness Domestic abuse training for staff and / or signpost to the other levels of training available for those who may need it, and help determine who they may be
• Telephone and / or email support and information on the domestic abuse partnership, protocols and referral pathways
• Resources available for settings to use to raise awareness with students; including workshops that can be delivered, posters, and leaflets
• And the possibility of developing new local resources
The support on offer will give settings the confidence to support their students who may either be witnessing domestic abuse at home, or be in an abusive relationship themselves.

Spencer is a web-based tool that invites a professional with a good knowledge of a child or young person to complete an assessment of their strengths as well as their physical, environmental, neurodevelopmental, cognitive, emotional and relationship needs. Spencer can be used as a first stage intervention for teachers, teaching assistants, special needs support workers, and other professionals engaged in supporting children and young people in primary and secondary school.
Once complete Spencer analyses the responses and graphics provide an easy to understand report of needs. This is achieved using a bespoke information technology programme. The system is designed around an integrated model of child and adolescent development and does not rely on the need for ‘diagnosis’. Spencer provides interventions that are designed to help and support the child or young person in very pragmatic and accessible recommendations. Spencer can be used to guide Individual Education Plans and to gather evidence to support referral of a child or young person to more specialist help, and involves a monitoring and progress capability.
