Think2Speak will not be sending another email to your inbox full of deals and scarcity as we are not taking part in one of the “busiest shopping days of the year”, and we want to share why.

Think2Speak is celebrating after being awarded £80 000 in National Lottery funding to support its work with children and young people. The funding boost for the organisation, whose head office is in Marshall’s Yard Gainsborough, comprises of £10000 to provide wellbeing support to children and their families, and £70000 from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund to develop their unique LGBTQ+ peer support programme.

For those who cast doubt on systemic racism in education: this picture was in a 2017 psychology textbook written by teachers, published by an educational publisher, approved by an exam board and used within schools. It literally doesn’t get more systemic than that.

Gainsborough social enterprise Think2Speak has teamed up with celebrated artist Rebecca Strickson to create the Conversation Colouring Book – and we’re giving thousands free to locked-down families in need.

No one left behind: panel and discussion

This week saw HIV Prevention England’s conference in London. Lizzie, our CEO and Founder, was asked to join the closing plenary panel to discuss ‘No one left behind’. Here’s she shares the four key points that she raised.

Lizzie Jordan, Think2Speak’s Founder and CEO was recognised as a Distinguished Life Fellow in ‘recognition of her outstanding service to the University and to public life’ by Bishop Grosseteste University.

Lizzie was accepted into the ranks of Distinguished University Life Fellows by University Chancellor, Dame Judith Mayhew Jonas at the prestigious ceremony in Lincoln Cathedral on Wednesday 24th July. Lizzie was then presented with a framed certificate and gift at the Conferment Dinner held in the beautifully redeveloped Constance Stewart Hall at Bishop Groseteste University in Lincoln.

The Think2Speak director team celebrated a double award win at the inaugural East Midlands Charity Awards accompanied by our guest of honour Sue Fortune, Joint CEO from Lincolnshire Community Foundation.

The work of Think2Speak’s services across Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire has been recognised in the new awards, with T2S shortlisted for the category of 'East Midlands Small Charity Big Impact. Our CEO and Founder, Lizzie Jordan, has also been shortlisted as ‘Charity Director of the year’.

Chairman of West Lindsey District Council, Councillor Angela Lawrence, said: “These awards have been devised to find a way to honour the outstanding members of our district’s communities. Councillors have shaped and created this awards ceremony to give recognition to the numerous people who give up much of their free time to make West Lindsey a better place. They are the lifeblood of our communities.” The District Champion of the Year Award was presented to Lizzie Jordan, Think2Speak’s CEO and Founder.

Presenting the award, Coun David Cotton said: “For more than ten years Lizzie has gone into schools and shared her story of living with HIV with children and young people to educate them about healthy relationships and keeping themselves well and safe.’

We are delighted that Lizzie's work has been recognised through her nomination and shortlisted place on the Northern Power Women Awards 'Person with Purpose' category. The winner will be announced at a black tie event in Manchester on 6th March. 

The Think2Speak team invited to meet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at event in Nottingham on World AIDS Day.

Founder recognised in top 100 Women in Social Enterprise

Lincolnshire Social Enterprise Think2Speak are celebrating the recognition of their founder Lizzie Jordan as one of the 100 most inspiring and influential women in social enterprise on NatWest’s inaugural Women in Social Enterprise 100 (WISE 100) list.

Founder Lizzie Jordan featured in BBC One documentary The Truth About HIV with Doctor Chris Van Tulleken. Showing one of our HIV workshops in a Lincolnshire secondary school, Lizzie also shares her personal story - the 'why' behind Think2Speak's formation.
