£80,000 Funding Boost

Think2Speak is celebrating after being awarded £80 000 in National Lottery funding to support its work with children and young people. The funding boost for the organisation, whose head office is in Marshall’s Yard Gainsborough, comprises of £10000 to provide wellbeing support to children and their families, and £70000 from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund to develop their unique LGBTQ+ peer support programme.

Distinguished Life Fellow accolade for Lizzie Jordan, Think2Speak Founder

Lizzie Jordan, Think2Speak’s Founder and CEO was recognised as a Distinguished Life Fellow in ‘recognition of her outstanding service to the University and to public life’ by Bishop Grosseteste University.

Lizzie was accepted into the ranks of Distinguished University Life Fellows by University Chancellor, Dame Judith Mayhew Jonas at the prestigious ceremony in Lincoln Cathedral on Wednesday 24th July. Lizzie was then presented with a framed certificate and gift at the Conferment Dinner held in the beautifully redeveloped Constance Stewart Hall at Bishop Groseteste University in Lincoln.

Think2Speak CEO named District Champion of The Year

Chairman of West Lindsey District Council, Councillor Angela Lawrence, said: “These awards have been devised to find a way to honour the outstanding members of our district’s communities. Councillors have shaped and created this awards ceremony to give recognition to the numerous people who give up much of their free time to make West Lindsey a better place. They are the lifeblood of our communities.” The District Champion of the Year Award was presented to Lizzie Jordan, Think2Speak’s CEO and Founder.

Presenting the award, Coun David Cotton said: “For more than ten years Lizzie has gone into schools and shared her story of living with HIV with children and young people to educate them about healthy relationships and keeping themselves well and safe.’
